Historic East Side of the Square – Red Oak 1900s

This circa 1923 photo shows the S.C. Nordquist Clothier store (center/right) which today is the home of Pudgy Pumpkin Patch Gift Shop. This picture comes from a larger picture obtained from the Montgomery County History Center and at that time it was known as the Nordquist Clothing Store.

“Undated photograph, thought to be a tour of Mitchell dealers to help promote their automobiles. Five of the cars have Nebraska license plates. The Mitchell was made in Racine, Wisconsin, from 1903 to 1923. They seem to have made only touring cars and roadsters, all very expensive cars. Red Oak businesses pictured: Red Oak Flower Store, unmarked, Kozy Kandy Kitchen, The City Book Store, S.C. Nordquist – clothier, and Artz Drug.”
